We’re looking for one experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who feels at home with clinical nursing and is confident in both medicine and anaesthesia. At Heronden Independent Veterinary Practice, we want your knowledge, careful judgement and kindness to make a difference every day.

The clinical role
You’ll work closely with our veterinary surgeons and nursing colleagues across medical and surgical cases. We’re looking for confidence and experience in:
- Medical and inpatient nursing: observing patients, keeping accurate records, recognising changes in their condition and communicating concerns promptly.
- Delivering prescribed treatments and supporting diagnostic work, including blood sampling and laboratory work.
- Anaesthesia nursing: preparing patients and equipment, monitoring anaesthesia carefully, and providing attentive recovery and postoperative care.
- Preparing for procedures, maintaining clean and well-organised clinical areas, and handling and sterilising equipment.
- Reassuring owners, explaining nursing care clearly and supporting colleagues throughout a busy clinical day.
Who we’d love to meet
You’ll be an experienced, RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with sound clinical judgement and a strong interest in medical or surgical nursing. You should be comfortable taking responsibility for your nursing work within your role, know when to ask for support, and bring a calm, thoughtful approach to patient care. Confidence in medicine and anaesthesia nursing is essential.
